Supporting local community is so important to me and is something very close to my heart. Each year I make it a personal goal to donate my services to a local foundation or non profit organization. Last month I was fortunate to meet a wonderful woman, Debbie Bell who heads the NF Foundation of California.
WHAT IS NEUROFIBROMATOSIS?
Neurofibromatosis, also known as NF and formally known as von Recklinghausen’s Disease is a genetic disorder of the nervous system that results in the growth of noncancerous and cancerous tumors along nerves.
About the sunrise run
In 2011, Vacaville Sunrise Rotary and Neurofibromatosis CA joined forces to host the Sunrise Run, the successor event to the separately hosted Fiesta Run and NF Steps. The Sunrise Run features a half marathon, 10k run and 5k run/walk, as well as 1/4 mile and 100 yard kids runs. All of the courses conclude at Vacaville High School’s Tom Zunino stadium where friends, family, food and festivities await.
